Queens of the Stone Age are going to drop a new Christmas track ‘Silent Night’ this week. The charity single will also come with a reading of the classic Christmas story, ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas’.

Blues singer-songwriter, C.W. Stoneking will also guest on the festive track which will be available both on 7″ vinyl and to stream. ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas’ comes on the flip side and Brody Dalle, Josh Homme and “their three merry-making elves’ all feature!

In a statement, the band announced that “Queens of the Stone Age’ is working off the holiday spread in advance. The band is spreading year-end tidings of comfort and joy whether you want it or not.” The track was recorded during  QOTSA’s 2017 tour of Australia, the digital release will drop on December 7th whilst the limited edition vinyl will be released on December 14th and is available to buy from here.

The sales from the track will all go to ‘Sweet Stuff Foundation’, a non-profit charity created by Homme in 2013 to help musicians, sound engineers and their families struggling with illness and disability. Part of the proceeds will also go to the ‘Support Act’, which is a similar charity founded in Australia.
