R.E.M's Michael Stipe joined Michael Shannon and Jason Narducy for a live performance of 'The Great Beyond', and 'These Days'.
The performance which took place in Brooklyn, saw Stipe join the pair on stage for the two tracks. They had been previously touring across the US, performing songs from R.E.M's 'Life's Rich Pageant' to celebrate its 40th anniversary.
Speaking after the tour announcement, Michael Shannon said: “It dumbfounds and delights me that we continue our crusade through this astounding catalogue of music from one of Americaʼs most influential and unique bands".
He added: “Now we find ourselves at a summit, Life’s Rich Pageant, and weʼre all pinching ourselves in disbelief to be so lucky. The most strange and beautiful adventure".

Prior to that, the pair had also played a UK tour, performing tracks from R.E.M's 'Fabels Of The Reconstruction' for its 40th anniversary.
Stipe's guest appearance comes almost a year to the day from when he joined the pair on stage at the same venue for a live rendition of 'Pretty Persuasion'.
Speaking of R.E.M, Michael Stipe had previously clarified lyrics from their track, 'It's The End Of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)' that fans have consistently got wrong over the years.
The singer had clarified these lyrics, after confirming that some of the internet's most trusted lyric sources had been incorrect over the years. This comes as the band also had chosen not to print their lyrics in the liner notes for their album with I.R.S Records in the 1980s.
“Uh-oh, overflow, population ‘common food, but it’ll do’, save yourself, serve yourself, world serves its own needs—listen to your heart bleed, dummy with the raptured and the revered and the right, right”, Stipe wrote on X. "And let it be said I’m of the lets eat grandma school of punctuation, so".
In a separate post, Stipe added: @millsish.bsky.social Mike Mills says “Love your posts on BlueSky, but wasn’t it “that low plane, fine, then” not “flying” , then? I remember you said it was from a roadside sign about watch out for low planes flying. But that was a long time ago".
