Roger Daltrey has officially joined the charity project, Think Loud4 Parkinson's, aiming to raise funds and worldwide awareness for the neurological disorder.
The Who frontman will join a list of "famous faces" who have signed up for the cause, including bandmate Pete Townshend, Sir Richard Branson and Alice Cooper. It will include a charity album, as well as a number of tracks which will support the UK charity, Cure Parkinson's.
Praising Daltrey's addition to the charity, Director of Fundraising and Marketing at Cure Parkinson's, Andy Simons said: “Wow, what a coup to have Roger Daltrey involved in this".
He added: "Ian Grant and the Think Loud team are pulling out all the stops to raise funding to find a cure for Parkinson's! Thank you so much on behalf of the 11.8 million people hoping for a cure".
This comes after the 'Superband', Blue Water Giants announced their single, 'Dangerously In Love', which arrives on April 29.
The band, who consist of rock veterans, Neil Taylor, Josh Philips and Mel Gaynor, have a deep and personal connection to this charity; their consultant Ian Grant is currently battling Parkinson's disease.
The Who's Roger Daltrey is no stranger to getting behind a worthwhile cause.
Up until 2024, the singer served as the curator for the Teenager Cancer Trust gigs, before stepping down after two decades in the role.
Starting in 2000, the benefit gigs, have raised over £32 million in ticket sales, supporting those who have been battling cancer.
“The £32million raised from these concerts has been the foundation for the 28 specialised units within the NHS, as well as specialist nurses and youth workers to be there for a young person when cancer has turned their world upside down", Daltrey said on his final year as curator.
Kate Collins, the Chief Executive of the Teenage Cancer Trust said this of Daltrey, “Quite simply, we would not be the charity we are without Roger and these shows and – more importantly than that – thousands of young people with cancer in the UK would not have had the specialist support and care they urgently need".
