While stepping in a host of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Rosie O'Donnell discussed her move to Ireland.
The comedian is one of several guest hosts who take over from Kimmel in hosting his popular show as he takes a break. Other guests include, Richard Gadd, Jean Smart, Janelle James, Jean Smart, Nick Offerman, Megan Mullally and Shawn Hatosy.
Kimmel will return to his role on September 8.
Among many things, O'Donnell discussed her move to Ireland, as well as of course her long standing feud with US President, Donald Trump, which dates back to 2016, when Trump ran for presidency first.
During her opening monologue, O'Donnell said: "You know, I've been living in Ireland for the past two years because of 'Mango Mussolini'", in reference to Trump's apparent orange complexion.
She continued: "I read that Project 2025 and said, 'Got to get myself out of here, you know'. And I decided to go to Ireland, a place where people are driven to drink regardless of who's running their country".
Explaining her move, O'Donnell said: "I decided to move, and I took my little, then 11-year-old kid with me. And I just said, 'Whatever you do, don't tell anyone because we don't want a lot of press and a lot of paparazzi".
"And then they went to school and proceeded to tell their entire class, 'I'm very sorry. I won't be able to graduate sixth grade with you. I'm being forced to move to another country because the President of the United States hates my mother. But in all fairness, I believe my mother hates him more".
Rosie O'Donnell's roots in Ireland are strong, with her father originally hailing from Co Donegal.
During a chat on the Good Hang podcast with Amy Poehler, O'Donnell had previously said that her move to Ireland has been both "very beautiful" and sometimes lonely.
Previously recalling her visit to Donegal, she said: "My cousins were in their very late teens, and so they got us into trouble. They would shoot cap guns and try to provoke the British Army". Her mother had died at the height of the Troubles in 1973.
