Sam Fender has sent fans into a frenzy after selling out eight dates on his highly anticipated Proper Massive Stadium Tour 2027 in less than an hour, with more than 600,000 fans securing tickets.
The Newcastle singer-songwriter will bring the huge tour to six cities, with Dublin among the destinations. His headline show at Marlay Park on 1 July has already sold out, marking another major milestone in the musician’s hugely successful career.
The tour will also see Fender play some of the biggest venues in the UK, including three headline performances at London's Wembley Stadium, as well as shows in Newcastle, Cardiff, Edinburgh and Manchester.
Eight dates have sold out, with further performances already down to their last remaining tickets. The incredible demand highlights Fender's growing status as one of the UK's biggest live performers.
The announcement comes alongside the release of a brand-new recording from Fender, who has shared his own interpretation of The Rolling Stones' classic You Can't Always Get What You Want.
The evocative cover features in this year's John Lewis Christmas advertisement, marking the 20th edition of the retailer's much-loved annual festive campaign.
Produced by Fender alongside bandmates Joe Atkinson and Dean Thompson, the recording was made in Tyneside and features a children's choir from John Spence Community High School in North Shields, where the singer was previously a pupil. Brass arrangements are provided by the Easington Colliery Band.
Speaking about the release, Fender said it was a privilege to rework such an iconic song by a legendary band. He also explained that bringing together the choir from his former school and the local brass band was particularly fitting for the Christmas recording.
Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger also gave the cover his seal of approval, revealing that he is a fan of Fender's work and praising his interpretation of the track.
The single is available to purchase on 7-inch vinyl and CD through Fender's official online store. Both physical formats will feature his 2020 cover of Lindisfarne's Winter Song, which is receiving its first physical release.
There is also a charitable element to the release, with Fender and Polydor Records donating 100% of net profits from UK sales of the CD and vinyl through his official store to Teenage Cancer Trust. Meanwhile, profits from copies sold through John Lewis stores will go to Action for Children.
Fender's phenomenal ticket demand follows the success of his third album, People Watching, released in 2025. The record reached number one and went on to win the 2025 Mercury Prize, further cementing his position as one of the most celebrated artists in British music.
