Snow Patrol and Kylie Minogue announce collaboration with new release 'These Alarms'.
The new single released today (July 1st) was written by Snow Patrol with Kylie specifically in mind.
The track was initially supposed to feature on the bands 2024 album 'The Forest is the Path' under the working title 'KYLIE'.
When the band completed the track they decided that they would hold the release until they could record it with Kylie.
Snow Patrol frontman Gary Lightbody explained that he is a huge Kylie fan and wrote the track with her in mind.
"I played it to Johnny and Nathan and they loved it and we decided to record it for our (most recent) album The Forest Is The Path. All the way through the recording process the song was simply called ‘KYLIE’," Lightbody said.

"But when we finished the song we quickly realised something huge was missing from it. We all knew it was Kylie’s voice that was the missing piece. Nate suggested we send it to her to see if she would join us on it. So, in hope (and with many fingers and toes crossed) we sent it off, it reached Kylie and we heard back that she liked it," he continued.
Lightbody explained that when Kylie recorded her voice on the track the "song felt complete" and that they felt that in order to properly honour Kylie the song needed to be released as a single rather than being "buried somewhere on an album."
Speaking about the new song, Kylie said: “The story behind this song was irresistible… Hearing there was a demo called Kylie that had been living in the Snow Patrol archives was a complete surprise and, naturally, I was curious to hear it. Gary is such a brilliant songwriter, so to be invited into the band’s world is a total honour.”
'These Alarms' is available to stream on all platforms today, July 1st. The limited-edition 7” physical vinyl is available to pre-order from today, for shipping on August 21 st.
