There will be a repeat of the finals in 2021 and 2023 in the last-eight of this year's FAI Cup.
St Patrick's Athletic have been drawn at home against Dublin rivals Bohemians in this afternoon's quarter-final draw.
The Saints secured their place in the last eight with an impressive victory over reigning champions Shamrock Rovers last Sunday. Their reward is another major Dublin derby, with Bohemians travelling to Richmond Park in a repeat of the 2023 FAI Cup final.
St Patrick’s Athletic will be hoping to use home advantage as they look to continue their cup run, while Bohemians will be equally determined to reach the semi-finals. The tie is expected to be one of the standout fixtures of the quarter-final stage, given the rivalry between the two clubs and the significance of their previous meeting in the competition’s final.
Elsewhere, Derry City have been handed a home tie against Dundalk at the Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium. Both sides will be aiming to take another step towards reaching the FAI Cup final and securing silverware at the end of the season.
The remaining two quarter-finals feature teams currently occupying the bottom four places in the SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division. Drogheda United will welcome Galway United, while Waterford FC will host Sligo Rovers at the RSC. Waterford, who have shown improved form in recent weeks, will be hoping their resurgence can continue in the cup.
All four quarter-final ties are scheduled to take place over the weekend of 4–6 September. Two of the matches will be selected for live television coverage by RTÉ Sport.
