The Rolling Stones have revealed that their upcoming album Foreign Tongues will include a surprise cover of Amy Winehouse’s classic track You Know I’m No Good.
The news emerged during Ronnie Wood’s appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where the guitarist discussed the band’s highly anticipated new record and shared fresh details about the project ahead of its release on July 10.
The 14-track album marks the band’s 25th studio release and follows the huge success of 2023’s Grammy-winning Hackney Diamonds.
During the interview, host Jimmy Fallon revealed that Foreign Tongues features the band’s take on Winehouse’s acclaimed 2006 song from her landmark album Back to Black.
Jimmy and Ronnie also went on an improvised jam session that had the crowd (and us...!) up and dancing.

The connection between Winehouse and The Rolling Stones stretches back nearly two decades. In 2007, the late singer famously joined the band onstage during their set at the Isle of Wight Festival, performing Ain’t Too Proud to Beg alongside Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Wood.
Wood appeared visibly energised while discussing the new record, which also features contributions from major names including Paul McCartney, Steve Winwood, Robert Smith and Chad Smith.
The album has already been previewed through the release of lead single In The Stars and opening track Rough and Twisted.
The newly released In The Stars music video, directed by François Rousselet and starring Odessa A’zion, has been described as a “hundred-person jam session crossing space and time led by Mick, Keith and Ronnie from The Rolling Stones back from the 60s.”
Blending psychedelic imagery with nostalgic performance scenes, the video reflects the album’s broader creative direction, which the band says remains rooted in “blues, country, rock and classic Stones songwriting.”
Recorded in under a month at Metropolis Studios in West London, the album reunited the band with Grammy-winning producer Andrew Watt following their work together on Hackney Diamonds.
Mick Jagger previously described the sessions as intense and creatively charged.
“I love doing these recording sessions in London at Metropolis. It was a very intense few weeks recording Foreign Tongues,” he said.
“We had 14 great tracks and we went as fast as we could.”
Keith Richards added: “The Foreign Tongues album has a continuity from Hackney Diamonds and it was great to be working in London again, and to have that London vibe around us.”
Meanwhile, Wood used his television appearance to reflect on the emotional circumstances surrounding one of the album’s standout guitar solos.
Fallon played a clip of the song Back In Your Life, praising Wood’s “fantastic” guitar work, before the musician revealed the solo was recorded shortly after the deaths of music legends Brian Wilson and Sly Stone.

“It came out my guitar, the feeling, you know,” Wood said.
“Just one take. I didn’t do that, the guitar played itself.”
The album will also feature one of the final recorded appearances from late drummer Charlie Watts, who died in 2021, adding further emotional weight to the release.
Outside of the album, Wood also confirmed plans for his first solo tour in 16 years, with dates across the UK and Europe this summer, alongside a new exhibition of his artwork in Germany later this year.
Despite more than six decades in music, Wood said he still feels creatively driven.
“It’s inspirational to do music and art,” he said.
“It’s such a gift, you know, to be able to do both.”
