The Script Are Back

Friday’s show at the Academy will mark the Script’s first gig on Irish soil since the death of their guitarist Mark Sheehan, who passed away back in April aged 46.

Confirming his death at the time, the Irish band who formed in 2001, shared this statement.

“Much loved husband, father, brother, band mate andd friend Mark Sheehan passed away in hospital after a brief illness”, the band wrote. “The family and group ask fans to respect their privacy at this tragic time”.

Since Sheehan’s death, the Script’s Danny O’Donoghue and drummer Glen Power have continued to perform, having supported Pink during her recent leg of her UK Tour.

The pair have said on social media that keeping the band going, was what Sheehan would have wanted.
