Thousands of people have taken to the streets across the country to protest over the rising cost-of-living.
The cost-of-living coalition is calling on the government to deliver further measures for struggling households.
They say rising rents and childcare are ‘unsustainable’ for many people.
Social Democrats Councillor Eoin Ó Broin says more targeted payments are needed:
“There are so many costs for Irish families: health insurance, childcare, education for primary schools. These costs don’t help when there is a rising energy crisis and income has stayed the same. That is putting people under a lot of pressure.”
