The most senior and highly respected US scientist battling the coronavirus pandemic is to recieve extra security, after threats were issued to him after he dared contradict President Donald Trump’s dubious interpretations and forecasts over the the coronavirus crisis.
The US Marshals service confirmed that Dr. Anthony Fauci, an expert of reknowned standing and the public face of the US government’s response to the virus, was granted special security protection, following grostesque abuse from Trump’s blinkered following.
The 79-year old doctor, the country’s foremost expert on infectious disease since 1984, has been attacked by republicans and conservatives after disputing Donald Trump’s assertions about the virus. Dr. Fauci disagreed publicly with Trump’s plan – which has now been dropped – to ease quarantine restrictions by April 14th in time for Easter!
He also disputed the President’s promotion of antimalarial drugs hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine as reliable treatment for the virus.
Trump’s MAGA supporters have drawn disgust and anger after attacking Dr Fauci online, accusing him of being an agent of the “deep state” trying to undermine the president.
