Two teenage boys have been arrested following a serious assault in Blanchardstown, Dublin, which has left a man in his 30s in critical condition in hospital.
The man was discovered unconscious on Mill Lane shortly after 4.20pm on Sunday afternoon and was taken to Connolly Hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.
Gardaí confirmed that two boys, both aged in their mid-teens, have since been arrested as part of the ongoing investigation.
The teenagers are currently being detained at a Garda station in west Dublin under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
Investigators are continuing to appeal for witnesses and information relating to the incident.
Gardaí are asking anyone who was travelling along Mill Lane, either on foot or by car, between 4pm and 5pm on Sunday, to come forward.
They are particularly keen to speak with a woman who was a passenger in a silver Suzuki vehicle parked in the grounds of Connolly Hospital during that time.
