Ireland AM presenters Tommy Bowe, Muireann O’Connell and Alan Hughes were quick to poke fun at their colleague Deric Hartigan on Thursday morning for missing his cue for the weather.
The Limerick man was reporting live from Drogheda, County Louth, but was caught unaware when the camera cut to him for a weather report.
The camera cut to Drogheda, where Deric can be heard in the background having a chat before someone calls him and he lets out a gasp.
The forecaster then makes a dash to the camera, fixes his ear piece and flashes a big smile.
‘Yes! Thank you very much, Hannah,’ Deric said, ‘And a very good morning. We’re broadcasting here from Drogheda in County Louth, in the Wee County.’
Deric then gives a weather report, noting that most of the heavy rain will clear northwards but there will still be windy conditions.

‘That’s how we’re shaping up for now,’ he concluded, before making a cheeky remark about his slip-up: ‘That is live TV! We’ll be back again live.’
The camera then cut back to the studio, where the presenters hilariously mocked Deric by not being on the couch on time.
‘Sorry,’ they all mutter as they get themselves into position.
‘Well done, Deric,’ Alan praised before the trio burst into laughs at the blunder.
‘I love that clip of Deric!’ Tommy confessed, chuckling, ‘It’s the panic in his face there.’
‘I was just wondering what he was saying and who he was talking to beforehand,’ Alan added, with Tommy responding: ‘Hopefully he didn’t curse at this time in the morning.’
The clip was shared to the Ireland AM social media, with many in stitches over the blunder.

‘Poor Deric,’ one wrote, ‘This is hilarious. The fear in his eyes. Can’t stop watching.’
Virgin Media journalist Richard Chambers added: ‘The panic.’
