Wolf Alice, attended Wednesday night’s Brit Awards in London. They spoke to NME on the red carpet, and revealed their plans for their tour bus stereo when they’ll be hitting the road with Queens of The Stone Age later this year. The group were nominated at the Brit Awards for ‘Best British Group’, along with London Grammar and Royal Blood.
‘We’re going to America for two months.’ singer Ellie Rowsell told NME. ‘We’ve got a whole lot of shows over there and a couple with Queens Of The Stone Age, which should be cool.’
Wolf Alice drummer, Joel Amey continued: ‘I’m actually really up for going on the road with them. They’re an amazing live band. We learnt quite a lot in the early days from going on the road with really established bands and picking up a few tricks. I’m going to pick up a few tricks. [Manic Street Preachers] are an example of a band who taught us something quite early on. They’re an amazing band.’
But what will they listening to on the road? We asked the band what’s been on rotation on their tour bus sound-system.
Asked about what they’ll be listening to while on the road, Joel answered: ‘I listen to this band called ‘Dasher’, who I was telling Ellie about. That’s really cool. It’s like this one-woman punk project. That’s really good. I’ve also found this band called ‘Minimal Man’ from the ’80s who I really like.’
Bassist Theo Ellis added: ‘I like the new ‘Shame’ record a lot. I also like this band from Australia called ‘Amyl And The Sniffers’. I really like them a lot.’
