The woman accused of stalking Lindsey Buckingham has been ruled unfit to stand trial.
55 year old Michelle Dick, had been accused of attacking the former Fleetwood Mac guitarist, having claimed to be his daughter. She threw a powdery substance at him outside a building in Los Angeles, just as Buckingham was walking towards the property in March this year.
It had been reported that Dick had discovered the time and location of a scheduled appointment for Buckingham, and waited for him to arrived.
This is not the first time that Dick has faced these allegations where Buckingham is concerned, having previously threatened to kill the musician and his family, with Buckingham applying for a restraining order against her in December 2024.
In court, prosecutors have alleged that Dick has frequently made unwanted contact with Buckingham between October 2021 and March of this year.
It was also claimed that Buckingham had claimed that Michelle Dick had told police that he was her father, and had accused him of "suffocating her as a child".
Dick had been arrested following her recent attack on Buckingham, and was also accused of stalking another victim, who was named in the documents as "Stephanie N", as well as vandalising Buckingham's car, along with that threat to kill in March.
Michelle Dick pleaded not guilty to all seven charges.
However, Judge Robert S Harrison has ruled that Dick is not "trial competent" or "able to handle your case". Following reports from a court appointed doctor, it was also ruled to be “medically appropriate to treat the defendant’s psychiatric condition with medication”.
Further rulings are to be made at a hearing which has been pencilled in for August 27.
It is possible that Michelle Dick could qualify for a mental health diversion programme, which if she completes successfully, all charges made against her could be dismissed.
Elsewhere, over the last number of months, rumours of a reunion between Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks had been gaining momentum, with the pair reportedly back on speaking terms, having appeared on the same podcast, Song Exploder, to discuss their famous hit, 'Frozen Love' last year.
