The man who opened Woodstock had died.
American folk singer Richie Havens was the first act on centre stage at the iconic New York festival in 1969.
Havens and his band were actually further down the bill, but were forced to take to the stage after the infamous traffic jams leading to Woodstock prevented earlier-scheduled artists from being on time.
He died of a heart attack at his home in New Jersey earlier today, aged 72.
