The nominations for the 2023 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductions have been announced.
With some artists nominated for the first time, this year’s nominees illustrates a huge, wide range of different artists, ranging from Kate Bush to Rage Against The Machine, George Michael to The White Stripes.
Other nominees also include Soundgarden, Sheryl Crow, Iron Maiden, Warren Zevon, Missy Elliott, Cyndi Lauper, Willie Nelson, A Tribe Called Quest, and the Spinners. While New Order and Joy Division have received their first nominations.
With Rage Against The Machine getting a Hall of Fame nod for the fifth time, the band lead the way for nominations from this year’s list of nominees, with Kate Bush in second place, having been nominated for the fourth time.
Artists getting their second nomination include The Spinners, Iron Maiden, Soundgarden, and A Tribe Called Quest.
Elsewhere in their first year of being eligible, The White Stripes and Missy Elliot also received nods for the Hall of Fame.

Speaking about this year’s list, John Sykes who is the chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s Foundation, lauded the diverse range of stars receiving nominations.
“This remarkable list of nominees reflects the diverse artists and music that the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame honours and celebrates”, he said.
“These artists have created their own sounds that have impacted generations and influenced countless others that have followed in their footsteps”.
Reacting to the news, Cyndi Lauper also spoke of her delight in this statement.

“Seeing my name on this year’s ballot with so many talents that I admire means so much to me. It has been a lifetime privilege to reach so many different kinds of fans with a message of following your own path (and having fun along the way, too)”, the singer also added.
The inductees for the 2023 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame will be announced in May, with the ceremonies taking place in the Autumn.
