‘Bike Week’ is a celebration and promotion of the benefits of cycling and takes place from Saturday 11th May to Sunday 19th May. Cycling is one of the most sustainable forms of travel and a family friendly activity. As a transport option cycling has one of the lowest impacts on the planet and the environment, impacting positively on air and noise pollution.

MS Ireland is celebrating World MS Day on May 30th with their “Dip a Day in May” fundraising Challenge. The Dip a Day Challenge encourages individuals of all ages and abilities to take a daily dip in May in their favourite swimming spot, whether it’s a pool or the sea, every dip counts towards supporting its vital services.

Funds raised through the challenge will support MS Ireland’s vital work in providing essential support services, advocacy, and research funding.

Make time for breakfast… rise and shine with Childline by ISPCC this May. Childline calls on the people of Ireland to take time for breakfast and help raise vital funds for Ireland’s only 24hr listening service for children and young people.

Childline is asking families, schools, clubs and workplaces throughout the country to take time for breakfast – to sit down, listen and enjoy each other’s company while hosting their own breakfast to support Ireland’s 24/7 listening service for children and teenagers nationwide.

The Harold’s Cross Community Festival 2024 buzzes with energy under the theme “Bee Wild,” celebrating biodiversity and inclusivity. The festival will showcase the importance of preserving ecosystems, and bring communities together to learn and celebrate the local wild lives and native plants and their role in sustaining a balanced ecosystem. Activities are designed to cater to all ages and abilities to foster a sense of belonging and empower attendees to take action for a greener future.

The Festival will take place in Harold’s Cross Park on Saturday 18th May & Sunday 19th May 2024.

Irish Famine Exhibition, runs from Tuesday 2nd April – Saturday 28th September

The Irish Potato Famine was the most catastrophic event in Ireland’s turbulent history.

This Exhibition tells the story of what happened during those horrific years. We use rare 19th century photographs, witness accounts, contemporary sketches as well as maps and statistical information

 

 

One Dublin One Book is a Dublin City Council initiative, led by Dublin City Libraries, which encourages everyone to read a book connected with the capital city during the month of April every year.
