Radio Nova has announced the launch of The Bryan Adams Radio Show as part of its weekend line-up, bringing one of the world’s most celebrated singer-songwriters to Irish airwaves.

Singer, songwriter and producer Bryan Adams will bring his unmistakable voice and storytelling to Radio Nova, playing seriously addictive music across Dublin, Kildare, Meath and Wicklow.

With the continued rollout of DAB radio across Ireland, the station says listeners nationwide will now be able to tune in to Radio Nova and enjoy Adams’ new weekly show from anywhere in the country.

The Bryan Adams Radio Show will air every Saturday at 6pm and Sunday at 9pm, offering listeners insight into the stories behind some of the most iconic songs in modern music.

Each week, Adams will open the studio to share a curated selection of tracks and personal moments that have shaped his career. Rather than a standard playlist, the programme will feature anecdotes, reflections and influences from the artists and songs that inspired him, delivered with his trademark warmth and humour.

Listeners can expect music from artists including The Police, Steve Winwood, Sheryl Crow, Shania Twain, Coldplay, Matchbox Twenty, Tina Turner, alongside classics from Adams himself.

Adams said of the show: “I enjoy it cause there’s lots of stories, it gets me a chance to reminisce about what what’s happened over the years and there’s some funny antidotes and little bits and bobs that happen, that songs are inspired.”

Radio Nova presenters PJ Gallagher and Jim McCabe, who host Morning Glory with PJ & Jim, welcomed the announcement with their trademark humour.

PJ Gallagher said: “Obviously having someone like Bryan Adams joining Radio Nova is a really big deal for our listeners – but it’s a bit intimidating for us to be honest! I mean the man’s a music legend! He’s mega!”

Jim McCabe added: “Interesting that he only showed up when Radio Nova is number 1 and can be heard all over Ireland on DAB! Jumping on the bandwagon if you ask me!”

PJ Gallagher continued: “Like he’s very welcome to the Nova family and all … as long as he stays in his lane! I hope he doesn’t like getting up early, Jim!”

Adams remains one of the most recognisable figures in global music, with a career spanning several decades and a catalogue of worldwide hits. Known for his powerful live performances and enduring appeal, he continues to connect with audiences across generations.

Over the years, he has released 17 studio albums, including So Happy It Hurts, which received a Grammy nomination. His songwriting has earned him numerous accolades, including a Grammy Award, three Academy Award nominations, five Golden Globe nominations and 20 Juno Awards.

One of his biggest global hits, (Everything I Do) I Do It for You, was famously written in around 45 minutes, while he also co-wrote many of his career-defining songs.

Beyond music, Adams is also an internationally respected photographer and has even photographed Queen Elizabeth II for a Canadian postage stamp.
