Many famous names, including Mike Myers have led the tributes to the late Oscar winning actress, Brenda Fricker, who passed away aged 81 yesterday.
In 1990, Fricker, became the first Irish actress to win an Oscar for her portrayal of Christy Brown's mother in My Left Foot.
The actresses' death had been confirmed by her agent, Phil Belfield, who released this statement.
"We will never see her like again and the world is lesser for the lack of her", he said. "I was honoured to know, love and work with her and she will always have a place in my heart and in the heart of so many film and TV fans the world over".
Leading the tributes to Fricker, Mike Myers who starred alongside her in So I Married an Axe Murderer, shared this message.
"I'd like to add my voice to the amazing chorus of people mourning the passing of Brenda Fricker. I loved working with her", he said. "She was a generous, sweet and insanely talented artist. I learned so much from her. I'm blessed to have known her. My condolences to her family and friends".

Elsewhere, Jim Sheridan who directed My Left Foot described the actress as a "force of nature".
Speaking to RTÉ Radio, Jim Sheridan said that Fricker's My Left Foot co star, Daniel Day-Lewis was the first person to call him upon hearing about her death, and said she was someone who was "very giving".
Sheridan went on to say that while the role of My Left Foot saw her rise to superstardom, it did leave her typecast.
"She was getting asked to play mothers, and she wanted to play an axe murderer", Sheridan told RTÉ Radio.
Keith Duffy also paid homage to Fricker for her no nonsense approach to life.
He said: "'I loved our chats, if never for me, always caring and always free. Thank you for your guidance, if sometimes harsh. Rest in peace".

Chris O'Dowd said that Fricker left a huge legacy f0r young aspiring actors growing up in Ireland.
"I hope she was surrounded by comfort and love when she went", he said. "We seem so lucky now with so many stars, Cillian and Saoirse... on the world stage, but when I was growing up there were very few, and she's the only woman I can think of that was really such a shining light".
"Such a gorgeous actor, so grounded, so doing everything in her own terms, and I thought that she brought it to the world stage in a beautiful way".
