The effected products include Dunnes Stores Baxter and Greene salads and prepackaged foods, and Supervalu and Gem sesame seeds.
The complete list of recalled foods is over 50 items. Baxter and Greene foods account for 40 of the 50 effected.
The full list of effected food from Dunnes is available here, which includes items such as sandwiches, wraps, salad bar items and more.
The packaged sesame seeds removed from other stores includes the SuperValu Sesame Seeds 200g and the Compania Indilor Orientale Susan Sesame Seeds 50g batch and Gem sesame seeds.
The FSAI have published batch numbers of all effected products and consumers are urged to return the items if they have recently purchased the items.
Salmonella Symptoms
People with salmonella typically develop symptoms within 12-72 hours after infection.
Symptoms include a fever, a headache, stomach cramps and most commonly diarrhoea.
The illness usually lasts for up to a week according to the FSAI, with symptoms becoming extreme enough to warrant hospitalisation in some cases.
In a warning from the FSAI we were informed that the elderly, young children and those with a reduced immune system are most at risk of developing severe cases of a salmonella infection.
Retailers and caterers have been told to recall and stop the use of these products.
