U2 have announced a major world tour for 2027, with Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr. set to return to stadiums across the globe.

The Irish rock band will kick off Carnaval De Luz presents: The Greatest Show On Earth World Tour in Mexico City on February 23, 2027, with further dates confirmed for São Paulo in Brazil and Buenos Aires in Argentina.

Beck will join the band as support for the announced Latin American shows, with U2 confirming that additional dates in Europe and North America will be announced in the coming weeks.

The tour will mark U2's return to stadium performances for the first time since their The Joshua Tree Tour concluded in Mumbai in December 2019. That tour saw the band play to almost three million fans worldwide.

The newly announced dates include two shows in Mexico City on February 23 and 26, two in São Paulo on March 10 and 12, and two in Buenos Aires on March 23 and 25.

The tour announcement comes with the release of a new track titled ‘The Greatest Show On Earth’. Co-written by U2 and Brian Eno, it is the third single to be taken from Carnaval De Luz.

A story of lovers fighting to keep faith in each other - and faith itself.  The video is directed by Anton Corbijn and was shot in the Californian desert; it satirizes the band as a religious cult where women do all the heavy lifting.

The group described the tour as a challenge to themselves to deliver an unforgettable live experience, promising a show combining colourful visuals, powerful instrumentation and songs from across their catalogue.

U2 recently celebrated their 50th anniversary returning to Mount Temple School, Dublin, Ireland - the very place U2 was born - alongside a surprise performance on Dublin's Grafton Street on September 25.

The band are also preparing to release Carnaval De Luz, their sixteenth studio album, on November 13, 2026. The record features 12 tracks and collaborations with Brian Eno, Martin Garrix and Daniel Lanois, as well as a duet with Dolly Parton on Torn.

Tickets for the announced tour dates will first be available through the U2.com subscriber presale from Monday, October 19, at 10am local time. Remaining tickets will go on sale from Thursday, October 22, at 10am local time via U2.com.

Fans in Ireland and across Europe will have to wait a little longer for news of the band's next stops, with European dates expected to be announced soon.
