Angelique Kerber’s won her first Wimbledon title – beating seven-time champion Serena Williams in the ladies’ singles final.
The German picked up her third Grand Slam by winning 6-3, 6-3. Williams will have to wait to equal Margaret Court’s record of 24 major singles victories. Earlier, Novak Djokovic completed a five-set semi-final victory over Rafael Nadal – winning the decider 10-8 in over five hours.
