Apple has been awarded damages of more than 400-million euro in its long-running row with rival Samsung. A jury has backed the iPhone-maker’s claim that the firm copied some of its technology used to power the mobile device.

Apple has welcomed the decision while Samsung says it will ‘consider all options’ to get an outcome that doesn’t ‘hinder creativity and fair competition.  According to TechRadar, Apple made the following statement, ‘We believe deeply in the value of design, and our teams work tirelessly to create innovative products that delight our customers. This case has always been about more than money.’

Apple said that, ‘Samsung blatantly copied our design. It is important that we continue to protect the hard work and innovation of so many people at Apple.’

Meanwhile, Samsung don’t agree with the ruling. ‘Today’s decision flies in the face of a unanimous Supreme Court ruling in favor of Samsung on the scope of design patent damages. We will consider all options to obtain an outcome that does not hinder creativity and fair competition for all companies and consumers.’
