Billy Joel has announced his first new single in 17 years.

The track is called ‘Turn The Lights Back On’, arriving via Columbia on February 1, and will be available across all streaming platforms, and a limited-edition 7″ vinyl.

“I have good news, I have bad news”

Last month, Billy Joel had teased new music, having launched an official TikTok account, showing him speaking about making new material.

“I have good news, I have bad news, I’ll give you the bad news first. We don’t have anything new to play for you”, Joel can be heard saying on TikTok.

He also added, “The good news is you don’t have to sit through something you have no idea what it is! Although … we got a little something we’re working on you might hear some time”.

Joel has since changed his Spotify canvas and Facebook profile photo to a phrase, “Did I wait too long…..”. According to a press release, “Did I wait too long… to turn the lights back on?”, which is a lyric from his new track.

The Piano Man singer also shared a link to pre order ‘Turn The Lights Back On’ via his Instagram account.

News of this new track comes just weeks after Joel had announced a North American tour with Stevie Nicks and Sting. Find out more here.
