Billy Joel has shared a new update regarding his health, insisting that he "not dying".

This comes after the singer/songwriter was forced to cancel all remaining tour dates, after being diagnosed with Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus, an illness which can cause a build up of fluid on the brain.

"Under his doctor's instructions, Billy is undergoing specific physical therapy and has been advised to refrain from performing during this recovery period", a statement read at the time. See that in full here.

Recently, Billy Joel's wife Alexis Roderick, shared a positive update regarding her husband's health, where she also thanked the public for their kind messages and support at this time. More on this here.

"You can tell people: I'm not dying"

Now, Howard Stern, a presenter and close friend of Billy Joel, shared a brief message from the singer on his SiriusXM radio programme, The Howard Stern Radio Show.

“I saw Billy Joel two weeks ago, we had dinner together,” host Stern told his listeners. “He’s doing fine. He does have issues, but he said, ‘Yeah, you can tell people: I’m not dying’. You know, he wants people to know that", he said.

“He just… he’s gotta deal with some medical stuff, but it was delightful. We had a great time with the wives, we had a great conversation. I was telling him I’m enjoying playing classical music on the guitar. He lit up, because that’s what he’s into".

He added: “Then it was his birthday [on May 9], I even brought out the guitar and sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to him".
