Fans will also be treated to amazing jam sessions between bona fide legends of rock music.

‘Johnson And Knopfler’s Music Legends’, will also see Johnson and Knopfler speak to a range of star studded guests including Nile Rodgers, Sir Tom Jones, and Cyndi Lauper, who will share stories from their own careers, and mention the tracks which they feel shaped their careers in the music business.

Johnson & Knopfler In “revealing and utterly charming” Show

This series has been commissioned by Phil Edgar-Jones, director of Sky Arts, and entertainment for Zal Bennett, managing director of content for Sky UK and Ireland.

Sky’s commissioning editor is Barbara Lee.

“When two rock and roll legends open up their address books it turns out they are full of other legends and we are thrilled to be bringing this revealing and utterly charming series to the small screen; an hour in their company with the likes of Tom Jones, Carlos Santana, Cyndi Lauper, Sam Fender and Emmylou Harris is a very special treat”, Phil Edgar-Jones said.

‘Johnson And Knopfler’s Music Legends’ will begin airing on Sky Arts, Now, and Freeview from April 25 onwards.

Last month, Mark Knopfler recruited as many as 60 musicians to release a new charity single  ‘Going Home (Theme From Local Hero)’. More on this here.
