Brit Awards Nomination For Irish Band Fontaines D.C.

Fontaines D.C. have been nominated for Best International Group at this year’s Brit Awards.

The band are nominated alongside Foo Fighters, HAIM, BTS and Run The Jewels. The band will be hoping for better luck at these awards, having missed out on a Grammy a few weeks ago.

Meanwhile, “The Boss” himself Bruce Springsteen is also nominated for a Brit Award. The singer was nominated alongside, The Weeknd, Childish Gambino, Tame Impala and Burna Boy for Best International Male Solo Artist.

The cermony will take place on May 11 having been postponed in February due to the pandemic. Comedian Jack Whitehall will host the event for a fourth time. It will also feature performances from Dua Lipa.

In a post on Instagram, Fontaines D.C. were understandably thrilled to be nominated for a Brit Award.

Alongside a photo the members the band wrote, It’s great to be recognised by @brits as an international act. Cheers people X”.

Fontaines D.C rescheduled dates

This also comes after the band had to confirm the postponment of their upcoming UK and European tours due to the pandemic. They were due to start in Manchester on May 21, before finishing off in London’s Alexandra Palace on May 27.

Their tour will now begin on October 2 in Mountford’s Hall in Liverpool. A huge run of tour dates will follow over four months finishing in Paris’ Olympia.
