Guns N’Roses have released an AI-generated new video for ‘The General’, which you can check out below.

‘The General’ was released by the band via Geffen Records a few weeks before Christmas.

The video itself combines live footage and animated sequences, which were produced with artificial intelligence.

“the monsters of dark childhood memories”

It had been reported that Guns N’Roses had even detailed the animated elements for this video via a press release.

“Between the concert footage, [the video] dives into the subconscious of a young boy who stares down the monsters of dark childhood memories, blurring worlds in the process,” the press release said.

“The result is unlike anything the band has done before and continues a longstanding historic tradition of bold visuals from Guns N’ Roses”.

This “blurring of worlds” which is referred to in the press release, is shown via the fusion of animation into live footage of Guns N’Roses, and vice-versa.

AI-generated augmentations are also mixed into this live footage, giving the band this futuristic, heaven-like image.

Last December also saw Guns N’Roses’ Duff McKagan defend the band for playing three-and-a-half hour sets at their live shows.

Guns N’Roses had been criticised for performing live shows, lasting between three and a half to four hours long, comprising of 24 songs.

“I’d love to play shorter because, just, I’d be in less pain the next day. But, there’s just too many songs, and people stay for the whole thing. Nobody leaves, so it’s like, “Okay, they must be enjoying this.” We’ll whip out ‘Coma’ or ‘Locomotive’”, he said.
