Comedian/musician, Tim Minchin released covers of Billie Eilish’s “Bad Guy” and Ball Park Music for Special Requestival, Like a Version. Here’s a reminder of the orginal track from Eilish herself.

Using his accordion, Minchin took “Bad Guy” through different sounds, whilst testing out his accents. You can check that track out for youselves below.

He also covered Ball Park Music too, covering the track “Exactly How You Are”.

“It’s just a really good pop song”, he commented on this track. “It’s really simple but makes a few melody choices that are quirky. Great for harmonies. And, on piano — piano’s the sort of instrument where you’re trapped into various modes. It’s so fun to find that tempo where you’re just getting to bash it out”.

He also added, “But, also, just the chorus, the sentiment of the chorus is gorgeous”.

Other Minchin covers

Minchin also managed covers from artists like Coolio, SIA and BENEE. He also performed “Airport Piano”, a track from his 2020 album, “Apart Together”.

Speaking of Billie Eilish, back in March, Ringo Starr had heaped the praise on the singer, calling her an “incredible musician”

Starr had presented Eilish with a Grammy which she won for Record of the Year, fending off Megan Thee Stallion for the award.

“It was a great pleasure for me to do the Grammys on Sunday and presenting the Best Record to Billie Eilish who I think is just incredible, and Finneas who came through for me on my EP”, Starr said on a Zoom Q&A.

“It was great to meet her and musically she’s great. She’s a beautiful human being”, he added.

The plaudits kept rolling in for Eilish with Gene Simmons also praising her a week after Starr. Simmons claimed that he was “blown away” by Eilish’s documentary “The World Is A Little Blurry”.

The KISS star branded Eilish, “a unique and orginal artist”. More on that story here.
