Dublin Airport has been issued with a six week time frame in which to to reduce the number of night flights to an average of sixty-five.

The DAA says the decision by Fingal County Council makes no sense. Local residents have been complaining about noise levels from planes using Dublin Airport at night.

Fingal County Council’s issued an enforcement order calling on airport bosses to reduce the number of flights between 11PM and 7 AM.

It would ensure the airport complies with planning conditions The DAA’s slammed the move – calling for the conditions ‘overly onerous‘.

It wants the local authority to suspend the conditions on night flights and claims the local authorities decision is bad for the Irish consumer, economy and for the country’s connectivity with the world.
