Dave Bautista has sparked debate online after sharing a statement supporting transgender people on social media.
The actor reposted an image on Instagram which read: “If trans people bother you more than Nazis, re-evaluate.”

The post quickly spread across social media, with users sharing both support and criticism of the message.
Some praised Bautista for speaking out on issues around transgender rights, while others argued that the comparison was unfair and accused him of sharing a deliberately provocative statement.
Supporters of the actor defended his post, with one user writing: “He was speaking up for human rights. Don't see what's so controversial about that. Unless you have a problem with human beings existing.”
Another commented: “I'm very confused why this is a controversial statement?”
However, other social media users criticised Bautista's stance. One user simply responded: “Gay” as an insult, while another wrote: “I'm bothered by both. Now what?”
The reaction comes as Bautista continues to be known as one of Hollywood's more outspoken actors on social issues.

The former professional wrestler has previously spoken about topics including gender equality and women's rights.
Following the reversal of Roe v. Wade in the United States, Bautista stood up for what he believes in.
In a previous street interview, Bautista was asked about the importance of men with a public profile speaking up for women's rights.
TMZ finds he responded:
"I don’t think it has anything to do with men who look like me."
"Every f***ing man needs to be louder about the rights of women."
He has also encouraged men to actively support equality and challenge harmful stereotypes.

When asked about fellow wrestler-turned-Hollywood stars John Cena and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in the same interview, Bautista said he could not speak for them but suggested they were less outspoken on political issues.
Bautista, known for roles in Guardians of the Galaxy, Dune and Blade Runner 2049, has regularly used his platform to discuss issues he feels strongly about.
