A “No Cursing” sign was made for Dave Grohl to remind him to not swear during a recent Foo Fighters show in Abu Dhabi.

The sign was made to remind the lead singer to refrain from using profane language while on stage, as use of the F-word is considered a crime in UAE, punishable by up to one year in prison.

The show which took place last Sunday (November 26), was held at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix after race concert.

Keen to ensure that Grohl did not land himself in hot water with the authorities over his use of foul language while on stage, the sign was written in all caps, and was placed on stage as a constant reminder to Grohl at all times.

“would have loved this”

A photo of this sign was shared online, with Grohl reportedly referring to it at different times during the show.

During the concert, the singer reflected on the different times that he thought that it was the “first time ever” that he had made it through an entire live set without swearing.

He also added that his bandmate and friend Taylor Hawkins “would have loved this”.

The show also saw Dave Grohl dedicate a live performance of ‘Everlong’ to Hawkins, adding that he dreams about the late drummer at least three times a week.

“I had a dream about him last night that he was bald with a ponytail… swear to god, I really did. I dream about him three times a week, but last night’s was good, because he had no hair and a ponytail”, Grohl said.

Following this show, Foo Fighters will kick off the Australian leg of their world tour tomorrow night (November 29).

Last month, Dave Grohl also paid an emotional tribute to Taylor Hawkins at the Ohana Music Festival.

The show took place just 7 miles from where Hawkins grew up at Languna Beach, California. More on this from Nova here.
