David Byrne has doubled down on his thoughts of reuniting Talking Heads, calling the idea "a fool's errand".
The musician addressed the prospect of a Talking Heads in a new interview with The Times, where he spoke about the band's 50th anniversary, as well as fans' hopes that the band may reunite following their split in 1991.
Last week, Byrne insisted that Talking Heads will not be going out on tour again, saying that the band cannot rekindle that magic from their younger days, and do not wish to become a legacy act. They had earlier teased a huge announcement earlier this Summer, which saw them release a first ever music video for hit track, 'Psycho Killer'. More on this here.
Stating that his bandmates are not interested in pursuing the idea of a reunion in a new interview, Byrne said: “On a practical level, trying to recreate the feeling that people had when they were in their early 20s? The time that they first heard that music? That’s a fool’s errand. And besides, I’m really enjoying what I’m doing".
“We were on TV together and people went, ‘Well, they all seem to be getting along,” he added, before putting a dismissing notions of a reunion, “But no, I don’t think so".
Back in July, Byrne also shared his second single from his new album 'Who Is The Sky?'. Check that out here.
He also joined forces with Hayley Williams for a new track, which was written for the latest adaption of Roald Dahl's The Twits.
