Boston punk icons Dropkick Murphys are set to return to Dublin next summer with a major outdoor headline concert in Fairview Park. The band will take to the northside stage on Thursday, 25 June 2026, with gates opening at 7pm.
Best known for their anthemic hit “I’m Shipping Up to Boston”, the group will arrive in Ireland as part of a new tour following the release of their latest album, For the People, a record that tackles themes of social justice and marks what the band describes as a return to their raw early sound.
Tickets for the Fairview Park show go on general sale this Friday at 10am.
Since forming in 1996, Dropkick Murphys have evolved from “Boston’s rock ’n’ roll underdogs turned champions” into global festival favourites, delivering music built to be “chanted at last call, in packed arenas, and during the fourth quarter, third period, or ninth inning of a comeback rally.” Their discography includes four consecutive Billboard Top 10 debuts—Turn Up That Dial, 11 Short Stories of Pain & Glory, Signed and Sealed in Blood, and Going Out In Style—as well as the gold-selling The Warrior’s Code, which features the near–double platinum classic “I’m Shipping Up to Boston.”
The band recently returned to full electric performances after releasing two critically acclaimed acoustic albums: 2022’s This Machine Still Kills Fascists and 2023’s Okemah Rising, both reimagining the work of Woody Guthrie. Recorded in Tulsa with longtime producer Ted Hutt, the projects introduced Dropkick Murphys to new audiences through airplay on SiriusXM’s Outlaw Country and coverage from outlets including Rolling Stone Country, Paste, CNN, Americana Highways, and SPIN. The shift also led to the band’s first-ever acoustic, reserved-seating theatre tour in 2022.
The Murphys’ return to electric form—and to Dublin—promises one of next summer’s standout live shows.
