Two Dublin Bus routes remain on ice after 7pm rach evening following an incident on Mountjoy Square which provoked anger and distress for public transport workers and the public alike
A man threatened a driver with a gun earlier this month, issuing a vile threat as part of the trauma inflicted onthe driver.
Dublin Bus routes #7 and #13 have yet to return to full service in the wake of the incident.
Despite "productive" talks between bosses at Dublin Bus and two unions representing drivers to get the suspended stops back in operation, The Irish Times reports that safety concerns persist.
Staff are wary of returning to the scene of the incident, after a man produced weapon and threatened a driver on April 18th.
SIPTU and the NBRU have demanded action, and it’s understood there’s been agreement to set up new protocols in relation to incidents involving the safety of staff.
Community engagement is also planned, but for now normal services are yet to resume.
