Dublin has been spared fresh weather warnings as Met Éireann issues yellow alerts for strong winds and heavy rain in parts of Ireland, with blustery conditions continuing and temperatures set to drop later this week.
The national forecaster has issued a Status Yellow wind warning for Donegal, Galway and Mayo, with very strong southwesterly winds expected at times on Wednesday, October 14.
The warning will come into effect at 6am on Wednesday and remain in place until 6pm.
Met Éireann has warned that the strong winds could displace loose objects and debris, cause difficult driving and cycling conditions and lead to fallen trees and branches.
Large coastal waves combined with a moderate surge could also result in wave overtopping in exposed coastal areas.
⚠️Status Yellow Wind Warning Issued for Donegal, Galway & Mayo.
⏲️Valid: Wed 14th Oct from 06:00 until 18:00.
❗️Southwesterly winds will be very strong at times especially along the coasts.🍃

A separate Status Yellow rain warning has been issued for Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo.
That alert will begin at 6pm on Wednesday and remain in place until 6am on Thursday, October 15.
Spells of heavy rain are expected, with difficult travelling conditions, poor visibility and localised flooding among the potential impacts.
Dublin, Kildare, Meath and Wicklow are not included in either warning.
However, people across the capital and surrounding counties have been feeling the effects of the blustery weather in recent days, with Met Éireann forecasting further unsettled conditions before a colder spell arrives later in the week.
Tuesday will bring sunny spells and scattered showers. Some of the showers will be heavy early on in the day in the northwest with a chance of isolated thunderstorms⛈️
The showers will become more isolated from the south through the afternoon☔️ https://t.co/mJecJj9N45

According to the latest forecast for Dublin, Wednesday will be rather windy, with fresh to strong southerly winds expected. Rain is forecast to spread in from the west later in the day and into the night, with heavy spells possible.
The outlook for Thursday is also unsettled, with rain clearing eastwards through the day before drier and brighter conditions develop.
While no wind warning has been issued for Dublin and its neighbouring counties at the time of writing, the weather is expected to turn noticeably colder as the week progresses.
Met Éireann is forecasting overnight temperatures of between 5 and 7 degrees on Thursday night, with Friday morning expected to bring temperatures of around 7 degrees in Dublin.
Friday is forecast to be brighter, with sunny spells and scattered showers becoming more isolated as the day goes on. Daytime temperatures are expected to reach between 11 and 13 degrees.
The national outlook points to a colder and more settled spell towards the end of the week and into the weekend, although some showers will continue in parts of the country.
For now, Dublin and the surrounding counties remain outside the latest weather warnings, but residents can expect more wind and rain before the colder conditions set in.
