“trying to scultp the perfect acoustic music”

The tour itself will see Ed Sheeran perform a host of hits from his back catalogue, as well as an as of yet unnamed track. This track will feature on the singer’s upcoming album.

On the album, Ed Sheeran had this to say.

“I had been working on ‘Subtract’ for a decade, trying to sculpt the perfect acoustic album, writing and recording hundreds of songs with a clear vision of what I thought it should be”, he revealed.

“Then at the start of 2022, a series of events changed my life, my mental health, and ultimately the way I viewed music and art”.

He added, “Writing songs is my therapy. It helps me make sense of my feelings. I wrote without thought of what the songs would be, I just wrote whatever tumbled out. And in just over a week, I replaced a decade’s worth of work with my deepest darkest thoughts”.

Tickets for these shows are available on 10 March at 9am, via Ed Sheeran’s official website.

Back in 2021, Ed Sheeran also joined forces with friend Elton John to release a Christmas single.

While the video includes a cast of famous friends, the track also acknowledges the “pain this year” and remembers “the ones who have gone”. Check out the track here.
