Eric Clapton Ends Madrid Concert Early After Having Object Thrown At Him On Stage

Eric Clapton called a halt to a show early after an object was thrown at him while he was on stage.

The singer was playing live at Madrid's Movistar Arena last week (May), before he was struck in the chest by a vinyl record was thrown at him. He was just finishing up his live set, when a fan from the front row the record at him.

Having just finished a live rendition of his hit, 'Cocaine', Clapton had been fixed to play a live cover of 'Before You Accuse Me'. But in the end, the singer chose not to return to the stage. This show was part of his ongoing European tour.

Elsewhere, Eric Clapton is scheduled to play a one off show in the UK later this summer, which is to see him perform at the Sandringham Estate on August 23, where he is to be joined by Ronnie Wood and His Band, along with Andy Fairweather Low and The Low Riders.

In other news, the Wonderful Tonight singer had previously announced details for his 2026 Crossroads Guitar Festival.

The festival takes place in Austin, Texas from September 26-27, featuring a star studded line up, including ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons, The Who's Pete Townshend, Buddy Gray, Joe Bonamassa, Del McCoury Band, John Mayer and Jimmie Vaughan among others.

Proceeds raised from these shows will go towards Clapton's Crossroads Centre Antigua, which provides treatment and education to people who are dependent on alcohol and substances, as well as their families and significant others. More on this story from Nova here.
