Jennifer Aniston Urges Support For Matthew Perry Foundation

Jennifer Aniston has urged people to support a foundation set up by her late Friends co star Matthew Perry.

Perry who starred as the sarcastic Chandler Bing in the hit sitcom alongside Aniston and others, passed away in October aged 54.

Throughout his life, Perry was very outspoken about his battle with substance abuse, and addiction. The actor also set up a foundation in his name to help those struggling addiction.

This was a sober living facility for men, struggling with such issues.

The foundation is funded, sponsored and maintained by the charity National Philanthropic Trust, who aim to support philanthropy.

Sharing the message via her Instagram story, Jennifer Aniston urged people to support Perry’s charity.

Spreading the word, Aniston wrote, “For #GivingTuesday please join me and Matty’s family in supporting his foundation – which is working to help those suffering with addiction”. 

She also added, “He would have been grateful for the love”. 

Sharing a statement online, the Matthew Perry Foundation also explained how it was “the realisation of Matthew’s enduring commitment to helping others struggling with the disease of addiction”. 

The foundation also shared a quote from Perry, which has hone viral since the actor’s death.

“When I die, I don’t want ‘Friends’ to be the first thing that’s mentioned – I want helping others to be the first thing that’s mentioned. And I’m going to live the rest of my life proving that”, it read.

“Addiction is far too powerful for anyone to defeat alone. But together, one day at a time, we can beat it down”. 

Along with Aniston, Friends co stars Matt Le Blanc, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, and Lisa Kudrow also paid moving tributes to Perry on social media.
