Following England's famous World Cup victory over Mexico in the Estadio Azteca, Jude Bellingham had a clear message for supporters.

This comes as England sealed their place in the quarter finals of the FIFA World Cup following this 3-2 victory over Mexico, in a game where Bellingham scored two goals, which had given the Three Lions a 2-0 lead.

Bellingham's quickfire brace came within 98 seconds of each other, which saw England lead 2-0 after 38 minutes. However, they were pegged back thanks to a goal three minutes before half time, when Julián Quinones volleyed home from close range.

England extended their lead thanks to a Harry Kane penalty on 60 minutes, moments after defender Jarrell Quansah was sent off for a high challenge following a VAR check.

On 69 minutes, Mexico were awarded a penalty for a foul by Harry Kane in the box following another VAR check, which was converted by former Fulham striker, Rual Jimenez, setting up a grandstand finish.

However, despite being under severe pressure for that last 20 minutes, as well as 11 minutes of added time, England emerged victorious with an heroic defensive performance which saw them prevail in the high altitudes with a 3-2 triumph, and an a quarter final showdown with Norway and Erling Haaland on Saturday.

"tell them you're not coming"

This win saw devoted England fans stay up to watch their team through the night, which included a delayed 2am kick off.

Despite the working week starting just hours later for many, England midfielder, Jude Bellingham urged fans to continue the celebrations.

“Text your bosses and tell them you’re not coming in, simple as that", Bellingham said to reporters including Sky News after the game.

“I have been an England fan since I was seven years old, the 2010 World Cup was my first one", he continued. “Of course, in recent times we have had better moments but I remember watching a few tournaments and seeing a few of the players that are now on TV talking about it".

“They struggled in these types of nights and it was tough because it felt like the country never really got behind them".

“To be part of an England team that gives so much to the country and can give them nights like this, then it means just as much as anything in my career".

“There are going to be videos galore when I get in the changing room and check my phone", he added. “Kids stay off school, parents don’t go to work, enjoy your day, have the day off if you can, these nights don’t come often".

Elsewhere, Bellingham said that this win was perhaps the greatest moment of his international career.

“I am proud of the group of lads, a squad, a nation. It felt like a country’s performance", he said.

England captain Harry Kane later posted this on his Instagram account.
