Sinn Féin TD Brian Stanley has had to defend himself over another tweet – this time alluding to Leo Varadkar’s sexuality.
The three-year-old post, now deleted, read: “You can do what you like in bed but don’t look for a pay rise the next morning.”
The Public Accounts Committee chairman’s already been forced to apologise over a controversial IRA tweet.
Deputy Stanley, defending himself today, says his record on gay rights speaks for itself,
”What I meant in that text was, or that eh tweet was, we were trying to push legislation and measures regarding workers rights and minimum wage and living wage, and the point I was making was its great that we have achieved the rights for gay people and for woman….. and yippee to that!”
