Lindsey Buckingham was attacked by a woman in Santa Monica, according to the police.

This happened after the former Fleetwood Mac guitarist walked into a building when he was allegedly attacked by a women who threw an unknown substance at him before running away. This woman had reportedly discovered the time and location of this appointment and was waiting for him on arrival.

It was also reported that this woman was known to Buckingham from previous encounters.

Lindsey Buckingham did not suffer any injuries following this attack. An arrest is expected soon.

News of this comes months after Lindsey Buckingham and former bandmate and partner, Stevie Nicks had reportedly mended fences, having appeared on the same podcast to talk about their famous track, 'Frozen Love' back in October.

The pair had previously reissued their album, 'Buckingham Nicks' from 1973, which marked the first time this album was made available following its original release.

Speaking on the podcast, Stevie Nicks said: “Lindsey and I started talking about it last night. This whole thing seems really like yesterday to us".

On the song, 'Frozen Love', Stevie Nicks added: "The song is about two people that were in love, that had a lot of differences and saw the world slightly differently, but had this like relationship that seemed to be, like a gift. I like to think of it as Wuthering Heights or Great Expectations — a modern-day love affair, tragedies. Because nobody really loves happy songs. Certainly I didn’t, and neither really did Lindsey".

Stevie Nicks had also handed the track over to Buckingham to add production work and instrumentals, with Buckingham adding that  “she craved my input on that level, and nor did I crave hers on production or instrumental level, either. She understood that I was transforming things for her, and I understood that I wouldn’t have had anything to transform without the beautiful center that she’d given me".

This was undoubtedly the perfect news for Mick Fleetwood, who had previously called on the pair to "pal up". More on this story here.
