Foals recently performed a new track from their upcoming album live on BBC Radio 1 yesterday. ‘A Knife In The Ocean’ was the track they played on the radio show on Tuesday evening.
The band performed a special live session at London’s Maida Vale studios along with Welsh rockers Pretty Vicious. Foals previously released two tracks ‘What Went Down’ and ‘Mountain At My Gates’ before revealing their new track ‘A Knife In The Ocean’.
Frontman Yannis Philippakis recently spoke about the new track saying its “the perfect closer to the record”, then adding that “It captures the essence of what the band is trying to do”.
Yannis is known for his onstage antics and during the intimate performance to around only 30 people he climbed up the balcony. BBC Radio later tweeted about it on their official twitter page showing Yannis climbing the balcony to the crowd, you can check out the tweet here.
The band release their fourth album What Went Down on August 28, following on from 2013’s Holy Fire. The LP was recorded in the south of France with Simian Mobile Disco’s James Ford (Arctic Monkeys, Klaxons, Mumford & Sons). You can listen to the new track here, it is around the 1 hour 42 minute mark.
