Man Arrested As Gardaí Investigate Death In Leitrim

A man in his 30s has been arrested in connection with the death of another man in Co Leitrim last night, Gardaí have confirmed.

Gardaí have said that they are investigating "all the circumstances" which led to the man's death, who was believed to be in his 40s.

The man was found unresponsive following reports of an incident at a house in Arderry near Craigallen shortly after 9pm last night. He was treated at the scene by emergency services, before being pronounced dead a short time later. His body remains at the scene.

It was also confirmed that the scene has been preserved for a technical examination.

A Garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí attached to the Sligo Leitrim Crime Functional Area have commenced an investigation into all of the circumstances surrounding the death of a man following an incident in County Leitrim on Thursday, 11th June 2026".

A senior investigating officer has been appointed to lead the investigation, while a local coroner and the Office of the State Pathologist have been notified.

The investigations into this death remain ongoing.
