Mick Jagger discusses the future of The Rolling Stones and says that he is "already writing for the next album."
The Rolling Stones are set to release a brand new album 'Foreign Tongues' on the 10th of July.
In a recent interview with NME, Jagger revealed that the band have no plans of stopping any time soon.
He confirmed that he is already writing more songs, as he said: "I’ve already started writing songs anyway. They could be for other people though. When you write a song, you sometimes decide ‘that’s not for me, but it could be for the Chili Peppers’ or whatever.”
Jagger also said that he would headline at Glastonbury if the opportunity presented itself. He explained that it is a "difficult gig to do" as the stage is "odd" and "disjointed."
"I mean it is great when you look up the hill and you see everyone, it’s fantastic. There’s no doubt about it. Do I wanna do it again? Oh, I’ll say yes," Jagger continued.
Elsewhere in the interview Jagger discussed how they got The Cure's Robert Smith to feature on their new album. Jagger explained that their producer invited him to come and listen to some of the track and he says "Let’s get him to do something.’ So he sings on ‘Never Gonna Lose You’ – and he does a few synths.”
There are no tour dates confirmed for this year, however Jagger said that he "hopes to do some next year."
He revealed that Richard's wasn't keen on the idea of touring, although it looks like they may get a happy medium as Jagger said he hopes to replicate Harry Styles' touring style. He said he wants to do "multiple shows in Amsterdam and London. But then he’s still touring though; he’s not just staying in one place. But we are gonna get live dates in for next year, hopefully… I’ll let you know when I know.”
