The British rock band, Muse, cancel upcoming shows due to "unforeseen circumstances."

The band were set to perform in Abu Dhabi, South Africa and India next month but have made the "difficult decision" to cancel their upcoming shows.

In a statement via Live Nation the band said: “Due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, we will be unable to proceed with the upcoming scheduled shows in India, South Africa and UAE, this has been a very difficult decision and one we did not take lightly. We’re truly sorry to everyone who purchased tickets and appreciate your understanding.”

After the band broke the news, fans took to social media to express their disapointment and frustration with the band as they have not been given much notice or explanation. One fan commenmted "No one will refund our flights and accommodations. But you haven’t even given us a proper reason!”, with another commenting, “can you guys at least let us know why you’ve cancelled so we have some peace of mind?"

Muse were expected to be performing at the festival 'Bandland' in India, however due to the cancellation of the tour, the festival were then forced to cancel. In an Instagram post, the festival announced their cancellation, they said: “Muse, one of our headliners, has had to cancel their upcoming tour due to unforeseen circumstances, which includes their performance at Bandland. We completely respect their decision and send them love.”

“With the festival just a month away and our commitment to delivering the kind of uncompromised live experience Bandland stands for, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s edition in the interest of preserving the experience we set out to deliver,” they continued.

In other news, the band are currently working on their 10th studio album. Muse shared a taster of their new album last year as they released their single 'Unravelling'. You can listen to their single here.

In an interview last February, bassist Chris Wolstenholme spoke about the future of the band, he explained that they were not currently signed to a label but they were in talks a=of a new album. He said: “I think we’re gonna start work on the next record fairly soon, I think for the last few albums we’ve been with Warner and we’ve extended after each album. We may do the same again; we may go with a new label, who knows."
