A new anthology of murder/mystery stories inspired by ten songs from classic AC/DC album Back In Black, is to arrive this Summer.

The anthology will include a range of bestselling crime authors, compiled by former touring musician Don Bruns. Bruns has performed with artists such as the Four Seasons, Ray Charles, and Ricky Nielson.

Crime authors included in the anthology are Reed Farrel Coleman, Heather Graham, Tori Eldridge, Ward Larsen, Rick Bleiweiss and Andrew Child, who took over from older brother Lee Child in the Jack Reacher series of novels in 2020.

Andrew Child will contribute to the new Jack Reacher story to the anthology, which is inspired by the lyrics of AC/DC’s You Shook Me All Night Long.

The Anthology Creates “lot of action and suspense”

The anthology which is titled Back in Black: An Anthology of New Mystery Short Stories, will arrive on July 16.

It will be available in hardback and paper back, as well as audio CD. This is the third book from the Backstone Music and Murder Mystery anthology series, with previous entries being inspired by Michael Jackson’s Thriller, and the Eagles’ Hotel California.

In 2022, Don Bruns had this to say on the value of the anthology.

“Anthologies are great for a number of reasons”, he said. “There’s a lot of action and suspense that keeps the read tight. You can read a story in one sitting and not have to worry about keeping the plot lines and characters in your head between sessions”.

“On the rare chance that you find one of the stories a little boring, or you don’t care for the plot or character, you don’t just put the book down or force yourself to finish it. You just forget it and move to the next story. It’s that simple”, he also added.

Last month, AC/DC also confirmed dates for their upcoming ‘Power Up’ World Tour. More on that here.

That same month also saw AC/DC re-release their entire LP collection on gold vinyl to celebrate their 50th anniversary as a band.
