A new documentary taking us through the final 12 days in the tennis career of Roger Federer, is to be the subject of a new documentary.

This documentary which promises to take us through a “personal journey” on the tennis star’s career, will be showcased on Amazon Prime Video.

It will be directed by Asif Kapadia, who inspired the Amy Winehouse documentary, Amy, which went on to win an Oscar in 2016.

Kapadia will direct this documentary alongside Joe Sabia, having also explored the lives of footballers Diego Maradona, and Cristiano Ronaldo.

New Roger Federer Doc To “capture the final moments”

The documentary will also include interviews from Grand Slam winners Andy Murray, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic. The trio alongside Federer were the ‘Big Four’ who dominated tennis for years.

On the documentary, Roger Federer said, “Initially the idea was to capture the final moments of my professional tennis career so that I could have it later on to show my family and friends”.

He added, “During my career I tended to shy away from having cameras around me and my family, especially during important moments. But I didn’t see the harm in shooting this as it was never intended for the public.

“However, we captured so many powerful moments, and it transformed into a deeply personal journey”.

Roger Federer won 20 Grand Slams in a stellar career, which includes 8 Wimbledon titles, with his first SW19 win coming in 2003. The Swiss player retired from tennis in 2003.

Last Summer, Roger Federer was even spotted among the crowd enjoying a live Bruce Springsteen concert at London’s BST Show. More on this here.
