A 1997 Bentley Turbo R, which was once owned by Noel Gallagher, has gone up for sale on Autotrader for £1.2 million.

The car itself, which features an Oasis-inspired number plate reading 'Oasi5 2', has an asking price of £1.2 million, and six previous owners, the most high profile of them being Oasis star, Noel Gallagher.

“This stunning Bentley was previously owned by the famous Noel Gallagher from the legendary Band Oasis", the listing on the Autotrader website reads.

"The car is in excellent condition with a superb interior and is surprisingly reliable although rarely driven. Comes with private registration marking the second coming reunion of this once-in-a-century band,” it added, before describing the sale as a “chance to invest in the lead singer and songwriter’s once pride and joy”.

Speaking on this, Autotrader's Editorial Director, Erin Baker, said: “Cars listed by music legends don’t come around very often, and Noel Gallagher’s Bentley Turbo R is certainly one for the Autotrader history books. With over 80million visits to Autotrader every month, we expect this rock ‘n’ roll ride to strike a chord with music lovers and car collectors alike".

Gallagher on driving lessons

While the car was owned by the Britpop star, it is also worth noting that it is unlikely to have been driven by Gallagher, as he has never obtained a driving licence, having giving up on the idea during the 1990s, when Oasis were at the peak of their powers.

Back in 2023, Noel Gallagher recalled how he gave up on the idea of driving, as a number of Oasis fans would gather around during the lessons.

“I’m in a red Nissan Micra with a massive great big triangle on the top of it with an ‘L’, with all these kids coming out”, Gallagher explained to Radio 2.  “This is at the height of Oasis mania. I was like, ‘Never, never again am I getting in a car".

Despite never actually passing a driving test, Noel Gallagher has owned an impressive collection of cars, including a brown Rolls-Royce, which was bought by him by record label owner, Alan McGhee, who played a key role in Oasis' rise to fame.

Speaking of Oasis, the band's reunion tour will see their shows opened by the former Verve frontman, Richard Ashcroft, who claimed that he told Noel that he was "the only person" who could open their much anticipated reunion shows. More on this from Nova here.
